Did you know ?

We breathe around 15,000 litres of air every day.

But unfortunately for our health, although major measures have been taken, the air in Brussels is still very polluted, mainly due to road traffic.

It’s high time we think about the Impact of mobility on the air quality in Brussels. That’s the theme of this 2019 edition.

Let’s make Brussels’air more breathable

We can adopt new mobility behaviour and transport solutions other than the car – solutions that are less polluting. We can walk, ride a bicycle, or take the tram or metro. The Brussels-Capital Region has almost 50 mobility operators.

The city is changing… moving towards cleaner air

For its new urban development, the Brussels Region favours public spaces that are green and of a high quality. Cars still play a role but priority is given to pedestrians, to walking and cycling, and public transport.

A very simple equation

Mixed mobility

reorganised urban spaces
road traffic
clean air!
The result?
All for the well-being of Brussels residents.
